The Son of a Corrupt Lord Doesn't Want to Become a 'Saint'! V1C11
Stage 1-11: [The Savior] of All
A pitch-black
room.
The student
council room, with closed curtains, devoid of any light from the outside.
In this
solitary space where no one enters, I stared at the photo frame.
“Vellet-kun,
he was an interesting kid.”
The image of
the boy I had recently exchanged words with vividly came to mind.
I reminisced
about the encounter with him captured in the displayed photo.
I had thought
I made a favorable first impression, even going the extra mile to impress him,
but he saw through it immediately.
I believed my
charms would work on him, especially since he seemed fond of girls with ample
bosoms.
...Well, I’m
not exactly small myself, though, certainly not.
If I cast my
eyes downward, I can see a slight protrusion within my field of vision.
“...Hmph.”
Not finding
amusement in the pointed-out fact, I lightly flicked the photo frame with my
finger.
“...So, you
really did conceal it, the rumored Magic Cancel.”
I executed my
plan flawlessly.
I have been
observing and skipping classes all this time, patiently waiting for an
opportunity to make contact, so I had a good understanding of the situation.
I don’t
believe I displayed any signs of discomfort.
However,
there’s no way he could have guessed that I had set my sights on his special
technique...
Could it be
that he had been aware of the possibility of the teacher’s attention ever
since resolving that incident?
If that were
the case, it would explain why he displayed an unusually assertive demeanor
right from the start.
“I didn’t
think I would be rejected even for the student council recruitment... Are you
planning to hide it completely?”
If that’s the
case, then why did he use it against the fool from the Borvond family?
It’s clear
that he was willing to do whatever it took, even resorting to Magic
Cancel, in order to save Riche-san.
He aims to
secure her loyalty, given her exceptional value.
The goal is
to make her his own yes-woman... I suppose.
Even though he has a preference for girls with ample bosoms, he couldn’t be foolish enough to reveal his trump card just because Riche-san possesses a large bust.
“I am
currently dancing on the palm of his hand.”
The fact that
the attendant arrived at precisely the right moment must have been
premeditated.
Alice-san,
the attendant, is rumored to always be by his side.
However, he
even predicted that I would be used to gather information...
“He truly is
a natural-born genius.”
A striking
contrast to myself.
If he
continues to develop at this rate, he will become a magician who leaves a
lasting impact in history.
He may even
rise as a hero on par with “Florine, the Thunderbolt.”
His potential
was evident within just a few minutes of conversation.
“But, I
apologize.”
I release my
grip on the photo frame I had clenched.
It falls with
a crash, and I intentionally crush it beneath my foot.
“My purpose
is to assume the role of Reina Millfonti, a substitute for the teacher.”
Well, what
should I report when the teacher returns from the business trip?
I don’t want
to face reprimand.
“Although, I’ve
grown accustomed to it.”
Being shouted
at. Being struck. Being played with.
“...I wonder
what his intentions are?”
I retrieve a
piece of paper I had dealt with earlier.
An overnight
permission request form.
The names of
three students, fresh in my memory, written on the form required for students
to leave the academy.
The reason
stated on the application was volunteering.
◇ ◇ ◇ ◇ ◇
“Ouga-sama,
are you feeling alright?”
“Yeah, I’m
used to this kind of shaking.”
“I-I might be
in trouble... *urp*”
“Oh my...”
I
comfortingly pat Mashiro’s back as I noticed her deteriorating complexion.
She had
started the carriage ride with enthusiasm and liveliness, but the constant
shaking had taken its toll on her.
“Well, riding
a carriage isn’t something we do every day. I remember going through the same
discomfort in the past,” Alice reminisced about her days as a holy knight while
fashioning a makeshift pillow out of a cloth-wrapped bag.
“It might be
a bit cramped, but please lie down here. It should provide some relief.”
“Ugh... Thank
you...”
The girl
seated next to me slowly rose, attempting to switch seats with Alice.
As I glanced
out of the window at the passing scenery, I caught a sideways glimpse of her.
Our
destination was Inivent, an ordinary small town on the outskirts of the
capital, lacking any distinct characteristics.
Not
everything thrived in the capital; the further away from the center, the more
it transformed into a rural area, with an increasing number of poorly
maintained roads.
“Ah!”
The carriage
suddenly jolted violently, causing Mashiro, who was standing, to sway and
tumble towards me.
Losing her
balance, she collided with my stomach, hitting her head in the process.
And that
triggered something unexpected.
“...Ughhhhh!”
“Ah!?
Ouga-sama’s clothes, they’re...!”
The sound of
a classmate accidentally vomiting, followed by the maid's screams, filled the
air inside the carriage.
“I’m sorry, I’m
sorry, I’m sorry!”
“How many
times do I have to tell you? It’s fine. Well, if you shake it that vigorously...”
“...Urp...”
“Are you
seriously foolish? I mean, it’s safe to assume you’re foolish, right?”
***
After
arriving in Inivent, we followed Alice’s guidance and strolled through the
town.
The
atmosphere was so devoid of vitality that one might question if anyone actually
resided there.
“Riche-sama,
please... on my back...”
“Ugh... I’m
sorry...”
In response
to their exchange, Alice, displaying her thoughtfulness, hoisted Mashiro onto
her back.
“...There are
truly people who go out of their way to cause trouble, huh?”
“Yes. My
friends wouldn’t lie.”
“Well, that’s
reassuring.”
But what
exactly was their motive? Frankly, it didn’t appear to yield any significant
benefits.
The value of
land in such a dilapidated town was practically nonexistent.
With a
mixture of unease and bewilderment, we continued our walk.
“If you take
a right at the next corner, you’ll reach the orphanage.”
“You seem to
remember it vividly, even without consulting the map.”
“I’ve passed
by here a few times. Look, I’m sure everyone will be thrilled to see us—“
Her words
abruptly halted.
Before us
unfolded a scene where five men were forcefully shoving aside a woman with
orange hair.
“...Looks
like it’s our turn now.”
Without
hesitation, I sprang forward and delivered a flying kick to the men.
“What the
hell!?”
Caught off
guard by the unexpected assault, the men tumbled down like dominoes.
Alice swiftly
ensured the safety of the woman, who seemed to be her acquaintance.
“W-What the
hell! You bastards!!”
The thugs
immediately assumed combat stances.
As for me, I
readied myself as well.
“We’ve come
here to crush you.”
“Yo, yo, ain’t
it gutsy for a tiny tot to be clownin’ around already, you snot-nosed kid!”
“I’ll let you
go this time, so go home and suck on your mom’s b**bs or something.”
“I’d rather
lick those girls over there!”
Their vulgar
laughter echoed loudly.
These guys
were truly unpleasant.
For now, let’s
shut them up and put an end to this.
But before my
fist could do the job, Alice silenced them with her powerful voice.
“How dare
you! Who do you think this person is?”
She kneeled
before me and began showering the area with confetti, seemingly conjured out of
nowhere.
The
fluttering confetti dyed the ground a pink color as it gently descended.
A-Alice,
please stop. It’s embarrassing.
“As the one
who banishes all darkness and brings forth light! The one who condemns all evil
and lives under the banner of justice, the Savior!”
She recited
the lines as if it were a usual exchange between us.
“It is none
other than Ouga Vellet-sama!!”
And then, she
proudly proclaimed my name.
“....”
Ah, please
stop! This silence is incredibly awkward!
Don’t give me
that look as if I’m some dangerous person!
And you, the
acquaintance behind me, too!
You’re on our
side, aren’t you?
