Reincarnated as the most hated villain C1.2
Part 2: The Tragic Life of the Antagonist
Let me share
with you the tale of an antagonist, highlighting the hardships he endured.
From a tender
age, his very existence instilled fear in others.
Unloved by
all, his life was a tragic account of solitude and eventual demise...
The boy was
born amidst the turmoil of the “Second Human-Demon Great War,” a conflict zone
where the Demon Lord Army clashed with the Human Tribe Army.
Residing in a
remote village situated on the war’s frontlines, he led a modest yet contented
life with his family.
Or so it
seemed.
One fateful
day, he lost his homeland and was thrust into a life of slavery.
Witnessing
his father’s demise before his very eyes and seeing his sister sold off to
nobles, the boy plummeted into an abyss of despair.
Confined
within the cruel grasp of iron bars, his days were spent lying on the frigid
floor, his only solace a thin blanket.
In time, the
noble Crowley family, unable to conceive a child of their own, adopted the boy
as their foster son. They afforded him an exceptional education, intending to
groom him as their heir.
However, the
harrowing experiences had shattered Robelia’s heart.
He yearned
never to lose anything dear to him again or to endure further pain. As a means
of self-preservation, he closed off his heart from the world.
Although the
Crowley family were kind-hearted nobles, even they had their limits in
tolerating repeated challenges.
For every
individual, there comes a breaking point.
When Robelia
reached the age of twelve, he was forcibly enrolled in the esteemed “Grand
Chario Magic Academy,” the largest school in the capital.
The head of
the Crowley family believed that by exposing Robelia to numerous individuals,
his communication skills and violent tendencies would improve.
He aspired
for Robelia to mature into a person capable of managing his emotions and
empathizing with others. Unfortunately, his distorted personality persisted.
There were
occasions when he not only engaged in fierce competition with his peers but
also ruthlessly dismantled them, deriving sadistic pleasure from their
suffering.
Truly,
Robelia’s actions mirrored those of a malevolent entity.
Despite his
inclination to harm others without hesitation, Robelia displayed exceptional
academic prowess. He could often be found diligently studying in the library,
captivating the attention of numerous faculty members with his earnestness and
dedication.
While his
time at the academy was marked by solitude, Robelia, who had carved out an
unwavering position for himself, graduated at the pinnacle of his class,
earning the highest honors.
“———You are
not my son!!”
Such was
Robelia’s love for his father, a man of that nature.
He viewed his
father, who had suffered immeasurable losses, as a fellow human being,
accepting him unconditionally.
However, upon
returning to his family estate, he was denied entry, cast away by his beloved
father.
Rejected by
the one he cherished most.
Though
Robelia acknowledged his own culpability, he simmered with resentment.
He had
plummeted to a depth where he would not hesitate to employ any means necessary
to annihilate a world that continually betrayed him.
Even if it
meant delving into the forbidden realm of black magic, he could not stifle the
dormant weapon within him.
Confronting
the uncontrollable fury of Robelia stood Reinhar, the hero.
Having
journeyed from afar, Reinhar sought to halt Robelia’s wicked deeds, striving to
guide him onto a path of reformation.
For two days
and two nights, their clash ensued.
The collision
between the sacred sword and the black arts warped the very landscape.
Though
Robelia fought valiantly against the unified forces of the renowned Knights of
Valor, it was evident to all that he faced an overwhelming numerical
disadvantage.
Amidst the
hollow utterances of “bonds” and “trust,” concepts hitherto foreign to him,
Robelia eventually tasted defeat.
The
victorious hero, Reinhar, was consumed by profound anguish. Perhaps moved by
empathy for Robelia’s internal struggle, he refrained from delivering the final
blow and departed, leaving behind the words, “Alter your way of thinking.”
Overwhelmed
by an unprecedented sense of humiliation, Robelia watched as Linehal receded
from his sight. He had been vanquished by a young man younger than himself, one
who had grown up in a privileged environment untouched by the ravages of
despair.
Furthermore,
not only was Robelia spared from death, but he was also met with sympathy.
His pride
shattered, Robelia incessantly sought to amass greater power, engaging in
numerous rematches in an ardent quest to surpass Linehal, the hero.
Yet, victory
eluded him at every turn.
Defeat befell
him in every encounter, every intervention, and even in his attempts at
assassination.
The sheer
number of losses was so staggering that, unknowingly, Robelia found himself
joining the despised Demon Army that had ravaged his homeland.
However,
during the climactic battle against Linehal, who had invaded the Demon King’s
fortress with the intent of conquering it, Robelia, weakened by a curse
inflicted by the treacherous high-ranking officer of the Demon Army known as
the “Mage General,” succumbed to the piercing strike of the holy sword and met
his demise.
This is the
life of a villain.
Unacknowledged
by all and perishing in the depths of despair.
If this is
not a tragedy, then what else could it be deemed?
My ultimate
objective is to avert this tragedy, Seto Arima.
Leading an
ordinary existence would be in vain.
Even if I
were to attempt a life in seclusion, inevitably, I would stumble.
Even if I
sought to escape, as a character woven into the fabric of this narrative, I am
unable to depart from the stage.
There is but
one imperative that remains.
To earn the
recognition of each and every individual in this world.
