Reincarnated as the most hated villain C1.5
Chapter 5: The Kindness of the Beautiful Princess
“Um, why were
you scared of that person? He didn’t seem bad at all,” Princess Ryan asked
Julius, her face filled with curiosity, as they sat inside the swaying
carriage.
Even though
she had been rescued from a perilous situation, she found Julius’ treatment of
her as if she were a villain to be extremely rude.
“Princess,
that’s because he is a notorious figure. His name is Robelia Crowley, also
known as the Arrogant Sorcerer. He’s a dangerous individual you should never
approach.”
“Why is he
called the Arrogant Sorcerer? How did he earn such a nickname...?”
“It’s
probably because of his numerous wrongdoings. Despite being the top graduate of
the Magic Academy, he never used his incredible power and talent for the
greater good; instead, he pursued his own selfish desires. Just thinking about
the number of people he must have harmed is horrifying...”
“But... if
that’s the case, he wouldn’t have any reason to help someone like me who is
being pursued, right? He could have easily handed me over to the rebellious citizens,
which would have benefited him as well. Why didn’t he do that?”
“Hm, I can’t
understand the motives of a deranged individual consumed by the study of black
magic.”
Black magic
is considered a forbidden and disastrous form of magic.
Even demons
themselves fear it, so it’s hard to believe that humans would delve into its
practices.
Princess Ryan
felt a sense of unease.
However,
Julius seemed at ease during that time.
When he saw
that Ryan and the others were safe inside the carriage, he breathed a sigh of
relief.
Unlike Ryan’s
tyrannical father, he couldn’t sense any malice from Robelia.
(If he hadn’t
been there, we might have died...)
It’s possible
that even if it weren’t Ryan, one of the knights protecting the carriage could
have lost their life.
The injured
knight might not have survived without that healing potion.
Yet, without
expecting anything in return, Robelia casually remarked, “I did this to pass the time because I was bored.”
(He was truly
impressive...)
“Well... I
have a suggestion.”
A young
knight walking outside nervously approached the carriage.
“There’s
actually a guild headquarters for the Hero in a nearby town. If we explain our
situation to them, they might be willing to offer us shelter. It’s definitely
better than aimlessly running away without a destination, I believe.”
“Are you
referring to the Knights of Valor Guild? Yes, indeed, if we explain the
circumstances, they might be able to help us. Very well, let’s go.”
The guild is
managed by the master guild of a famous hero, Reinhardt. They were known for
assisting those in need regardless of their race, making them a viable option
to rely on.
When the
stern Julius gave his approval, the young knight felt relieved.
(I can’t
mention that it was his advice...)
A few minutes
earlier.
It all
started when the true identity of the sorcerer who had dispelled the attacking
monsters was revealed to be the Arrogant Sorcerer Robelia.
Robelia
halted the young knight, who was trying to pursue the carriage that had already
departed, in order to keep Princess Ryan away from him.
Though the
young knight had feared for his life, there was no hint of hostility from
Robelia.
Instead, he
received various pieces of advice.
“If you
continue west, you should reach the town where the headquarters of the Knights
of Valor’ guild is located.”
By entrusting
Princess Ryan to the Guild Knights of Valor, their pursuers would be unable to
harm her.
Furthermore,
Robelia insisted that Rheinhardt, the Hero, was a fine young man and there was
no other choice for him but to help a delicate girl like Princess Ryan.
Additionally,
there was a subtle threat that if this advice was ignored, the princess would
meet her demise. Despite being in a state of panic, the young knight found
solace in the fact that Julius, his retainer, agreed.
Given that
this man held significant decision-making power in their situation, it would be
troublesome if he were to reject the suggestion.
That’s what
the young knight, Eugel, thought.
Despite being
known as the Arrogant Sorcerer, Robelia had displayed genuine concern for their
well-being and offered valuable advice.
Maybe he wasn’t as bad as the rumors made him out to be.
